Ep 1. Awakening

In the first episode of Ergo Proxy, titled "Awakening," we are introduced to a futuristic world where people live in domed cities to protect themselves from the harsh conditions outside. As Re-l begins to investigate, she notices that the bodies of the victims are being erased from the city's records. She also learns that the victims all had a strange tattoo on their bodies. Re-l becomes intrigued by these tattoos and begins to delve deeper into the mystery.

Meanwhile, we are introduced to a mysterious man named Vincent Law, who is a fellow citizen of Romdo. Vincent works as an immigrant officer and tries to maintain a low profile. However, it becomes clear that Vincent is hiding something as he is being watched by a robotic entity known as the AutoReiv.

As Re-l continues her investigation, she encounters an entity known as a Proxy for the first time. Proxies are powerful creatures with the ability to manipulate reality. The Proxy that Re-l encounters is an enigmatic figure, capable of controlling gravity and bending reality to its will.

The episode reaches its climax as Re-l is attacked by the Proxy, and Vincent comes to her rescue. However, Re-l is left with more questions than answers as she tries to make sense of what she has witnessed.

Overall, "Awakening" does an excellent job of setting up the world and characters of Ergo Proxy. The episode establishes a sense of mystery and intrigue that will keep viewers hooked throughout the rest of the series. The animation is also top-notch, with detailed character designs and fluid action sequences.
