Fafner In The Azure: Dead Aggressor is a action adventure anime miniseries produced by Gou Nakanishi, Takashi Noto and Takatoshi Chino and directed by Nobuyoshi Habara. The central plot of the show revolves around a fiction future wherein the earth is being ravaged by a seemingly unstoppable alien invasion force, known collectively as the Festum. To defend against this menace the few military organizations around the world left in the wake of the disaster begin building giant mech suits to fight them. It is soon discovered that children pilot them exceedingly well and so many young children are tasked with stopping the beasts and saving the world through use of the suits, called Fafners.
