This fantasy anime movie is set in the Kingdom of Fiore, a land of wizards and magic. There powerful guilds control the practitioners of magic, including the Fairy Tale Guild from the title. The story follows Lucy Heartfilia and her friends in the Fairy Tail Guild. Lucy meets a young girl named Eclair who has lost her memories and whose only companion is a talking bird. Eclair is in possession of the Phoenix Stone, and as her memories begin to return it becomes clear that she is part of a larger adventure. Lucy and her friends set out to help her but Eclair is captured by the Duke of a nearby nation and the guild mates must rescue her and discover the secret of the Phoenix Stone. Directed by Masaya Fujimori, screenplay by Masashi Sogo based on the manga by Hiro Mashima. The movie was released to positive reviews and successful box office return in Japan.
