In the Father Ted season 3 episode 4, titled "The Mainland," the priests find themselves going on a trip to the mainland for a holiday, but things don't exactly go as planned. The episode starts with the priests getting on a plane and Ted beginning to feel uneasy about flying. On the plane, Father Jack ends up getting drunk and causing a bit of a scene, so the priests are told to leave the plane. They end up stranded in the airport with no way out, as all of the flights are fully booked.
Trying to make the best out of a bad situation, Ted decides to take the priests on a tour of the city. However, their tour guide ends up being no help, as he's more interested in finding a good bar to go to than actually showing them around. The priests end up getting lost and separated, with each of them having their own adventure in the city.
Meanwhile, a group of fellow priests from Ireland are also visiting the mainland, and they end up coming across Dougal in a park. They mistake him for one of their own and invite him to join them on a night out, not realizing he's actually a priest from Craggy Island. Dougal is thrilled to be included and ends up spending the night partying with the group.
Back at their hotel, Ted and Jack end up having a wild night after Jack's hearing aid gets stuck in his ear, causing him to mishear everything that's said to him. Ted tries to take advantage of the situation by getting Jack to do some crazy things, but things end up getting out of hand and the two priests end up causing quite a bit of chaos in the hotel.
Eventually, all of the priests reunite and make their way back to the airport. They end up having a run-in with security when Dougal's bag accidentally gets switched with one containing some questionable items, but they manage to make it back to Craggy Island in one piece.
Overall, "The Mainland" is a hilarious episode full of ridiculous situations and hijinks. It's a great example of the absurd humor that makes Father Ted such a beloved show, and it's definitely worth a watch for fans of the series.
