The Ending Day by Day is the first episode of the second season of Full Metal Panic!. The episode starts with Sousuke, the main character, returning to school after the events of the previous season, where he saved Kaname, one of his classmates, from a terrorist group. After the incident, Sousuke was forced to hide his identity and leave the school. However, he is now back, pretending to be a transfer student from another school.
Sousuke is still under orders to protect Kaname at all times, and his superior, Teletha Testarossa, assigns him a new mission. He is to investigate a military factory that has been producing a new weapon. The weapon, called the Behemoth, is a new type of Arm Slave, a giant mecha-like weapon that can cause significant damage. Sousuke’s mission is to infiltrate the factory and find out as much as he can about the Behemoth.
As Sousuke starts his mission, he realizes that he is not the only one investigating the factory. Another group, led by an unknown woman, is also trying to get information about the Behemoth. Sousuke manages to infiltrate the factory and finds out that the Behemoth has a new type of weapon that can cause massive destruction. He also discovers that the woman leading the other group is Mithril’s enemy, Amalgam.
While Sousuke is investigating, Kaname gets into trouble with a group of bullies, but Sousuke comes to her rescue. He manages to save her, but as a result, his cover is almost blown. Later, Kaname confronts Sousuke about his strange behavior, and he has to come up with an excuse for his strange actions.
The Ending Day by Day is an exciting episode that sets up the rest of the season. We see that Sousuke is still struggling to fit in at school, and his mission to investigate the factory is risky. The introduction of the new enemy, Amalgam, adds a new twist to the story and gives Sousuke a new challenge to face. Overall, the episode is a great start to the new season, and viewers will be left wanting more.
