In episode 8 of season 3 of Graveyard Carz, titled "The Royal Treatment," Mark and the team work on restoring a 1966 Plymouth Sport Fury that was previously owned by a member of the Saudi royal family. The car has been sitting in a garage for over 20 years, and it shows. The team has their work cut out for them as they begin to examine the vehicle.
Mark and Daren start by removing the old engine, which is heavily rusted. They replace it with a new custom-built engine, as they aim to bring this classic car back to life. Meanwhile, Royal, Josh, and Allysa start to work on the interior of the car, which is in a sad state. The seats are ripped, and the dashboard is cracked.
The team gets to work cleaning everything up, including the woodgrain paneling, which they carefully restore to its former glory. Royal works his magic, and with his expertise, he is able to rebuild the seats and reupholster them in a beautiful red and white leather. Allysa polishes the chrome handles and buttons, and Josh restores the dashboard to perfection.
One of the major challenges the team faces while restoring the car is finding the right parts. The car was a limited edition, and some of the parts are no longer manufactured. Mark and Daren scour different junkyards to find the parts they need, but it's not easy. Eventually, they are able to track down what they need, and the car starts to take shape.
Once the engine is installed, it's time to see whether or not it works. The team holds their breath as they turn the key, and the engine roars to life. They high-five each other, realizing that all their hard work is starting to pay off.
Now that the car is looking and running like new, the team starts to focus on the finishing touches. They install a new sound system, add period-correct wheels and tires, and paint the car in a custom-offered paint job. The car looks stunning.
Towards the end of the episode, Mark surprises the team by bringing in the owner of the car. He had gone to great lengths to find him, and the owner is overjoyed to see his beloved car restored to its former glory. Tears streaming down his face, he thanks the team and tells them that this really is the royal treatment.
As the team finishes up the car, they reflect on the hard work and dedication that went into it. This was no easy task, but they are proud of what they have accomplished. The car is delivered to the owner, who takes it for a spin with a grin on his face. The episode ends with Mark and the team looking satisfied, knowing that they've done a job well done.
