Hot Bench Season 1 Episode 131 Car Fire Hero or Scam Artist?; Bounty Hunter Blues
- February 4, 2015
In Hot Bench season 1 episode 131, titled "Car Fire Hero or Scam Artist?; Bounty Hunter Blues," Judge Tanya Acker presides over two cases with the help of judges Patricia DiMango and Michael Corriero.
The first case involves a Good Samaritan who claims to have rescued a woman from a burning car. The plaintiff, a retired veteran, asserts that he saw smoke coming out of the car and immediately pulled over to help. According to him, he broke the car window and pulled the defendant out of the burning car, saving her life. The defendant, on the other hand, denies these claims. She insists that the plaintiff never rescued her from the car and that she was able to escape the burning vehicle on her own. She, therefore, argues that the plaintiff's demands for payment for his heroic acts are unjustified. The judges must decide who is telling the truth and who is lying.
In the second case, Judge DiMango presides over the case of a bounty hunter who is suing his client for breach of contract. The plaintiff claims that he was hired by the defendant to find and capture a fugitive who had skipped bail. However, after the bounty hunter did his job and captured the fugitive, the defendant refused to pay him the agreed-upon fee. The defendant argues that the plaintiff used excessive force during the capture of the fugitive and that he endangered her family. She, therefore, claims that she is not obligated to pay the plaintiff for his services. The judges must determine whether the bounty hunter used excessive force during the capture and if the defendant is in breach of the contract.
As always, the judges engage in heated discussions as they weigh the evidence and question the witnesses. Their unique perspectives and approaches to the cases ensure that justice is served. Tune in to Hot Bench season 1 episode 131 to see how the judges will decide these intriguing cases.
