In season 7 episode 10 of Hot Bench, titled "Pro Photographer Flubs Birthday Pics?!; Women Are Not Puppies!," Judge Tanya Acker presides over two cases with Judge Patricia DiMango and Judge Michael Corriero.
In the first case, a woman hires a professional photographer to take pictures at her daughter's birthday party. However, the pictures turn out to be blurry and unusable. The woman seeks a refund from the photographer but he refuses to return her money, claiming that the pictures are of good quality. As the judges review the evidence, they must determine whether the photographer failed to deliver on his contract and is therefore responsible for the woman's financial loss.
In the second case, a woman sues her former friend for failing to reimburse her for expenses incurred while taking care of the friend's dog. The defendant argues that the plaintiff treated the dog like a puppy, which led to excessive spending on unnecessary items. The judges must determine whether the plaintiff went above and beyond her duties as a caretaker or if the defendant is simply trying to avoid paying what she owes.
As the judges hear the arguments from both sides, they must use their legal expertise to make a fair and just decision. With issues of contractual obligations and pet ownership on the line, the judges must navigate the complexities of these cases and reach a conclusion that satisfies both parties. In this episode of Hot Bench, audience members are given a glimpse into the workings of the court system as well as valuable insight into the importance of upholding contractual agreements and responsible pet ownership.
