Ep 5. G.I. Jeannie

In I Dream of Jeannie season 1 episode 5, entitled G.I. Jeannie, we see Jeannie trying to use her powers to help her master, Captain Tony Nelson, win his upcoming NASA survival test. Tony is set to be dropped into the wilderness for three days with limited supplies, and Jeannie is determined to make his experience easier.

Meanwhile, Tony is still stuck on the island. He's started to get bored and lonely, despite Jeannie's attempts to keep him entertained. When he spots a passing boat, he tries to signal for help. But the boat speeds off in the opposite direction.

All seems lost until Jeannie remembers that she still has her magic lamp with her. She summons the powerful genie who lives inside and asks for his help in getting Tony back to NASA. The genie agrees to help, but only if Jeannie will free him from the lamp. She's hesitant at first, knowing that her life with Tony will be much more difficult without her own magic. But eventually she agrees to the deal.

The genie uses his immense power to bring Tony back to the mainland safely. He then disappears, leaving Tony and Jeannie to face the consequences of their actions. Back at NASA, Tony is reprimanded for his disappearance, although he manages to convince his superiors that he was lost in the woods rather than on a desert island.

Roger, still reeling from the revelation that Jeannie is a genie, confronts Tony about her powers. Tony tries to play it off as a joke, but Roger is insistent on learning more. Tony is torn between wanting to keep his secret and wanting to be honest with his friend.

In the end, Tony decides to trust Roger and tells him the truth about Jeannie. Roger is skeptical at first, but eventually comes around to the idea that Jeannie is a helpful ally, rather than a dangerous force. He even starts to have a bit of a crush on her.

As the episode wraps up, Tony and Jeannie are left wondering what kind of trouble they'll get into next. They share a tender moment, marveling at the strange and wonderful world they've found themselves in.
