The U.S. airmen are documented through training, assignments, off-base activities and relationships. The heroic acts of these brave men define what real sacrifice comes with. The show follows a squad called the Para-rescue Unit into combat inside the deadly war zone of Afghanistan for two months. The rescue men all have families at home who wait patiently for them to return home. Through it all, the men always have their children and wives on their minds. The rescue men dream of the day that they can return home to their families, but combat is a constant mission. A mission that involves sacrifice for the betterment of the nation. The Para-rescue men are on call whenever a soldier goes down in battle. This elite squad must come to their rescue no matter the risk, so that others may live. The bad side of their jobs is to realize that not everyone is going to make it back home. So they prepare for these scenarios with much respect and honor. They send in a specific unit called the Cat Alpha Team for soldiers who are the most critically injured and need immediate attention. The rescue men have to work extremely fast with communicating information about a particular situation. This involves locations, extent of injuries and actively moving to get the wounded soldiers to the surgical team. Their number one goal is to keep the wounded soldiers alive until the medical team can work their magic. Inside Combat Rescue brings to light the realizations of the casualties of war. The show highlights the bravery and courage of these young men in the United States Air Force.
