Erin is a 28-year-old woman from Bellevue, Washington, who has been addicted to alcohol and drugs since she was a teenager. Despite several attempts to get clean, Erin always relapses, which has strained her relationships with her family and friends. Erin's addiction has also impacted her physical and mental health, leading to seizures, blackouts, and suicidal thoughts. Her loved ones fear that if she doesn't get help, she will die.

Joshua is a 33-year-old man from Liverpool, New York, who has been struggling with addiction to methamphetamine and other drugs for years. Joshua started using drugs to cope with the trauma of his parents' divorce and his father's death. However, his addiction has caused him to lose everything, including his job, his home, and his family's trust. Joshua is now homeless and living on the streets, where he engages in risky and criminal behavior to score drugs.

In this episode of Intervention, Erin and Joshua's families come together to confront them about their addictions and offer them the opportunity to go to treatment. Both Erin and Joshua are resistant at first, denying that they have a problem and insisting that they can quit on their own. However, as their loved ones share their stories and express their concern, Erin and Joshua begin to realize the impact that their addictions have had on themselves and others.

Erin agrees to go to residential treatment, where she will receive medical detox and therapy to address the root causes of her addiction. She struggles with the withdrawal symptoms and the emotional challenges of facing her past trauma, but she finds support in her fellow patients and the staff at the treatment center. Erin gradually begins to open up and make progress in her recovery journey.

Joshua also agrees to go to treatment, but he is more resistant and difficult to persuade. He argues with his family and the interventionist, insisting that he has no desire to quit drugs and that he prefers his current lifestyle. However, as he listens to his family's heartfelt pleas and sees the consequences of his actions, Joshua starts to soften and become more willing to consider treatment. He agrees to go to a detox center, where he begins to experience the physical and psychological effects of withdrawing from methamphetamine.

As Erin and Joshua undergo treatment, their families learn more about addiction and how to support their loved ones in recovery. They attend family therapy sessions and Al-Anon meetings, where they share their own struggles and find resources for maintaining their own mental and emotional health. Erin's family also attends a workshop on seizures and epilepsy, which helps them understand the medical aspects of her condition and how to prevent and respond to seizures in the future.

The episode ends with Erin and Joshua approaching the end of their treatment programs. Erin expresses gratitude for the support and guidance she received during treatment and looks forward to rebuilding her relationships with her family. She plans to continue attending support groups and working on her sobriety. Joshua is more hesitant, admitting that he still feels a strong pull towards drugs and is scared of relapsing. However, he acknowledges that treatment has given him a new perspective and tools for coping with his addiction. He says that he is open to continuing his recovery journey, but that he will take it one day at a time.
