Erin is a 28-year-old woman from Bellevue, Washington, who has been addicted to alcohol and drugs since she was a teenager. However, as he listens to his family's heartfelt pleas and sees the consequences of his actions, Joshua starts to soften and become more willing to consider treatment. He agrees to go to a detox center, where he begins to experience the physical and psychological effects of withdrawing from methamphetamine.

As Erin and Joshua undergo treatment, their families learn more about addiction and how to support their loved ones in recovery. They attend family therapy sessions and Al-Anon meetings, where they share their own struggles and find resources for maintaining their own mental and emotional health. Erin's family also attends a workshop on seizures and epilepsy, which helps them understand the medical aspects of her condition and how to prevent and respond to seizures in the future.

The episode ends with Erin and Joshua approaching the end of their treatment programs.
