Ep 5. Jade

Jade is a young woman whose life has spiraled out of control due to her heroin addiction. Her family and friends are at their wits' end, watching her throw away her potential and succumb to her addiction. In this episode of Intervention, we see how Jade's addiction has affected her relationships, health, and future.

The episode begins with Jade's family sharing their concerns about her addiction, and how it has impacted their lives. Jade was a successful student and athlete, but after being prescribed painkillers for a sports injury, she quickly became addicted to opioids. Now, years later, she is using heroin daily and has lost everything she once held dear.

Jade's family and friends have tried countless times to get her help, but she is in denial about the severity of her addiction and refuses to seek treatment. As the episode progresses, we see Jade hit rock bottom and lose almost everything she has left - her home, her job, and her car.

The interventionist, Jeff VanVonderen, meets with Jade's family and friends to plan the intervention. They share their stories of how her addiction has affected them and write letters to read to Jade during the intervention. They also arrange for a place for her to go and receive treatment.

The day of the intervention arrives, and Jade is surprised to see her family and friends gathered together. At first resistant, she eventually agrees to listen to what they have to say. Her loved ones read their letters, pleading with her to get help and describing how her addiction has impacted their lives.

After hearing from everyone, Jade agrees to go to treatment. She is emotional and overwhelmed, but also determined to get her life back on track. The episode ends with Jade leaving for treatment and her family hoping that this time, she will be able to overcome her addiction.

Throughout the episode, we see how addiction can take hold of someone's life and destroy their relationships and future. But we also see the power of love and support in helping someone find the strength to seek help and recover. Jade's story serves as a reminder that addiction affects not just the individual struggling with it, but everyone around them.
