The Heroin Hub: Chapter 3 is the third episode of the 21st season of the A&E documentary series Intervention. The episode follows the stories of several people who have fallen victim to the heroin epidemic in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The episode focuses on the "Kensington neighborhood" of the city, which has become known as the "heroin hub" due to its high rate of drug use and overdoses.

The episode begins with a profile of TJ, a 29-year-old heroin addict who has been living on the streets of Kensington for several years. TJ has lost everything to his addiction, including his job, his home, and most of his family and friends. He spends his days panhandling and searching for drugs, and his nights sleeping on the streets or in abandoned buildings. Despite several attempts to get clean, TJ has been unable to overcome his addiction.

The episode also features the story of Maria, a 36-year-old mother of two who became addicted to heroin after being prescribed painkillers for a back injury. Maria's addiction has led to the loss of her job, her home, and custody of her children. She is currently living in a homeless shelter and struggling to get clean.

The episode introduces us to Steve, a 47-year-old former heroin addict who has been clean for several years. Steve now works as a peer counselor, helping other addicts in Kensington to get clean and stay sober. Steve takes us on a tour of Kensington, showing us the areas where drugs are bought and sold and the "shooting galleries" where addicts go to use drugs.

Throughout the episode, we also meet several other addicts and their families, all of whom are struggling to deal with the devastating effects of heroin addiction. The families share their stories of loss, pain, and hope, as they try to help their loved ones get clean and stay sober.

As the episode progresses, we see the toll that addiction takes on the lives of those who are affected by it. We witness the pain and suffering of the addicts themselves, as well as the emotional struggles of their families and friends. We see the hope that recovery can bring, as well as the challenges and setbacks that come with trying to get and stay clean.

Overall, The Heroin Hub: Chapter 3 is a powerful and emotional look at the devastating effects of heroin addiction on individuals and communities. The episode sheds light on the opioid epidemic that is sweeping the nation, and highlights the need for greater resources and support to help those who are struggling with addiction.
