Ep 18. Secret Society (2)

The episode "Secret Society (2)" is the eighteenth episode of the second season of the animated television series Justice League. In this episode, Batman and Martian Manhunter capture Copperhead and learn that the Secret Society has stolen an immense superweapon called the Annihilator from a government research facility. Meanwhile, the Secret Society is mobilizing their forces in order to begin their plan of world domination.

Led by Gorilla Grodd, the Secret Society consists of several notorious villains such as Lex Luthor, Joker, and Cheetah. As the Justice League struggle to come up with a plan of action, they are visited by a seemingly repentant Copperhead.

To prove his loyalty to the Justice League, Copperhead provides key information about the Secret Society's plan of attack. He reveals that their goal is to take control of the Annihilator and use it to destroy the world's major cities, thus ensuring their own rule over the remaining population. Copperhead also reveals the exact location of the Secret Society's headquarters, which allows Batman and Martian Manhunter to infiltrate their base.

As the League prepares for their mission, they learn that they cannot depend on Superman, who is dealing with personal issues. This puts even more pressure on the remaining members to prevent the Secret Society from carrying out their evil plan.

At the Secret Society's headquarters, the Justice League faces a fierce battle against the villains, including an army of gorillas led by Grodd. Despite facing seemingly insurmountable odds, the Justice League manages to successfully infiltrate the base and create a diversion that allows them to gain access to the Annihilator. However, they soon learn that there is another player on the field - an alien warlord named Imperiex.

Imperiex forces the Justice League to hand over the Annihilator, but thanks to Batman's quick thinking, the League manages to sabotage the weapon from within, preventing Imperiex from using it for his own purposes. The consequence of their actions comes with severe consequences, as the entire universe is thrown into chaos that may be irreversible.

In the end, the Secret Society is defeated and the Justice League manages to save the day once again. However, the catastrophic aftermath of their actions give the league more worries and decisions about their future actions and align their values more closely with their mission. It is clear that the fight between good and evil is far from over, and the Justice League must remain vigilant in order to prevent the forces of darkness from succeeding in their quest for power.
