Ep 7. Monkey See, Monkey Bake

Four remaining kid bakers are monkeying around in the kitchen and must use monkey bread dough as the foundation for the ultimate monkey cake. In the pre-heat challenge, the bakers are given 90 minutes to create two different varieties of monkey bread. One variety must be a classic monkey bread, but the second must incorporate a unique and surprising ingredient chosen at random. The bakers need to balance the flavors of their ingredients carefully to ensure their monkey bread is delicious.

For the main heat, the bakers are tasked with creating a monkey cake using monkey bread as their base. Each cake must be decorated in a monkey theme and reflect the bakers' personalities. Hosts Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman check in on the bakers' progress as they create fondant monkeys, monkey bananas, and sculpted trees to bring their designs to life. It's a race against the clock as the bakers pull out all the stops to impress the judges.

To close out the show, one baker is named the winner of the Kids Baking Championship and receives a prize package featuring $25,000 and a feature in Food Network Magazine. The other bakers are heartened by the experience and come away with a newfound passion for baking, leaving the kitchen with culinary skills they will carry with them their whole lives.
