Ep 6. A Gamble In The Desert

As the title suggests, episode 6 of Love After Lockup's third season, "A Gamble In The Desert," brings on a whole new level of risk and uncertainty for the show's star couples. We see the aftermath of each of the couples' explosive reunions after weeks, months, and in some cases, years of separation due to incarceration.

Shavel and Quaylon were one of the couples that left us hanging after the last episode, with Quaylon disappearing from the hotel room the morning after their reunion. Shavel spent the last moments of episode 5 desperately trying to find him, and in episode 6, we see the results of her search. The two eventually meet at a nearby casino, where they attempt to build on what little trust they have left and work towards building a future together.

Elsewhere, we see Destinie fuming over Shawn's decision to keep their engagement a secret from his family. She's worried that he still hasn't fully come to terms with the idea of being with a formerly incarcerated woman, causing her to act out in dangerous and impulsive ways. Meanwhile, Shawn struggles with the fact that he doesn't have enough money to afford an apartment for himself and Destinie, causing even more stress in their already tumultuous relationship.

John and Kristianna go on a shopping trip to prepare for their wedding, but Kristianna can't seem to shake off the thought of her probation officer catching up with her before the big day arrives. Her paranoia sends her spiraling, leading her to make a potentially disastrous decision that could land her back in jail.

Lindsey and Scott's relationship takes a weird and dark turn when Scott decides to take Lindsey, who is newly released from prison, to a taxidermy shop. The bizarre outing leaves Lindsey feeling uncomfortable and unsure about her future with Scott. In the meantime, Scott learns that Lindsey left a couple of things out when it comes to the reasons why she ended up in jail which leads to more trust issues between the two.

Finally, we catch up with Heather and Dylan, a couple that has been struggling to keep the peace since Dylan's release. Dylan is trying to get his life back on track and be a good father, but Heather keeps throwing obstacles in his way, refusing to let him see his son unless he meets all of her demands. The two come to a head when Dylan finally stands up for himself, leading to a dramatic and explosive confrontation.

Overall, Love After Lockup's third season continues to deliver drama after drama, and episode 6, "A Gamble In The Desert," is no exception. With each episode bringing even more twists and turns to the table, it's clear that this season is shaping up to be one of the wildest yet.
