Macross 7 takes place 35 years after the previous events of Lynn Minmay restoring peace between the humans and the Zentradi. This story focuses on a young man named Nekki Basara, who is a guitarist as well as a singer in the popular band, Fire Bomber. While Nekki is currently residing in an under developed part of City 7, he spends his days writing and singing songs believing that music can be a powerful weapon of peace. One day, a group of aliens descend on City 7 and decides to take control of the sector. These aliens do not plan on destroy City 7's inhabitants, but they decided to steal the citizens spirits, which will instantly transform the townspeople in the zombies. Basara decides to fight against these creatures by singing his songs as a weapon to put an end to the aliens' reign of terror.
