The movie entitled Macross Plus is an anime series centred on the activities of the United States Government a few years after the war between humans and the Zentradi. The film starts thirty years after the famous war during a period when the United Nations is trying to develop new machinery and equipment by use of innovated technologies. Their main focus is to carry out tests on the colony planet known as Eden and subsequently be able to change the fighter aircraft. Some pilots are assigned to test the military aircraft and by coincidence were childhood friends. They include Isamu Alva Dyson and Guld Bowman, the mixed race Zentradi, both of whom are chosen to pilot a new aircraft each. They are selected by Project Super Nova, so that they can be able to choose the follower to the major Thunderbolt aircraft which is still in use by the United Nations Space military forces. Personal resentment and grudges between the two selected pilots cause a lot of confusion and disrupt the tests completely, thereby leading to the complete failure of the program. The enmity between them worsens when another childhood friend of theirs known as Fang Lone also joins the team of military test pilots. The three friends do not agree and decide to separate and end their friendship completely. This division among the friends is mentioned throughout the series as it keeps on affecting the performance of the guys. They later on meet again and to the great surprise of Alva and Guld, Myung is now very successful, as he is the producer of Sharon Apple, the most famous entertainment house at the time. One day in the course of a testing session, Alva and Guld confront each other with the truth they have been avoiding for years, and shortly after a fight breaks out. They forget they are in a testing session and as they fight, they make a mess of their surroundings by destroying everything in their path. After doing a series of dogfights with their test air crafts they end up on the ground and get into physical fights. In the end, Alva and Guld overcome their differences to fight against some enemies and rescue Myung from Sharon in particular.
