Ep 20. Officer of the Day

In Major Dad season 1 episode 20, titled "Officer of the Day," Mac is assigned as Officer of the Day at Camp Singleton. As he makes rounds of the day, he discovers a few of the soldiers out to have fun and doesn't have to heart to call them back to the camp.

However, one of the enlisted men, Harvey, and his team, do return to the camp later than planned after their fishing trip. Despite their delay, Harvey is grateful to have been out of camp after feeling herded around as the lowest enlisted man.

As Mac starts the duty to enforce the rules of the camp, he starts to understand the enlisted men's issues and decides to take a different approach to the situation. Rather than being rigid in enforcing all the rules, Mac takes the time to talk to the men and understand their feelings. In the end, he decides to allow the men some leniency, which brings about some unexpected yet delightful results.

Meanwhile, Polly becomes the victim of a prank by the officers at the camp. As she tries to figure out who is responsible, she discovers that her team isn't too fond of her because of her strictness with enforcing rules and hand-over reports. Polly is convinced she needs to be tough to command respect and runs to Pick for validation.

But after some soul searching, Pick encourages her to relax a bit and be more flexible in her approach, advice that Polly takes to heart and helps to embrace her softer side.

Overall, "Officer of the Day" is a light-hearted episode that highlights the importance of understanding and building relationships, especially in a military setting. It also shows the value of being flexible in leadership, a lesson that Mac and Polly both learn in their respective situations.
