Ep 1. A Tale of Two Whitneys

Whitney Thore is back for season 7 of My Big Fat Fabulous Life, and this premiere episode is a tale of two Whitneys. As fans remember, at the end of last season Whitney had just split from her fiancé Chase and was struggling to find a sense of stability and happiness in her life.

In this episode, we see Whitney trying to move forward by focusing on her business, No BS Active, and her friendship with Buddy. Whitney has hired a new PR manager, Ryan, to help her promote her dance class business and she is excited about the potential growth of her brand. Ryan comes across as professional and knowledgeable, and Whitney is hopeful that he can help her take No BS Active to the next level.

Buddy, on the other hand, is going through a tough patch. He has been living with Whitney for a while now, but the two have never seriously considered dating each other. However, in this episode, we see a shift in their relationship as Buddy confesses to Whitney that he has feelings for her. Whitney is taken aback but ultimately doesn't see a romantic future with Buddy. This leads to some awkwardness between the two, but they both seem committed to staying friends and maintaining their close bond.

Another plot point in this episode is Whitney's relationship with her parents, Barbara and Glenn. There have been tensions between Whitney and her parents before, but this season seems to be approaching those issues head-on. Glenn has been living in a retirement community for the past few years, but Whitney is concerned that he isn't getting the proper care he needs. She convinces him to move closer to her in Charlotte so she can keep a closer eye on him. Barbara, however, seems more distant than ever. Whitney tries to talk to her about the issues they've had in the past, but Barbara isn't receptive.

One of the most interesting parts of this episode is when Whitney visits her ex-fiancé Chase's family. Whitney and Chase had a very public and messy breakup, but it turns out that his family is still very much a part of Whitney's life. She visits them to catch up and see how they're doing, and it's clear that they still care about her. It's a touching reminder that even amidst a tumultuous breakup, there can still be love and kindness between people.

Overall, A Tale of Two Whitneys is a strong start to season 7 of My Big Fat Fabulous Life. There are hints of drama and conflict, but also moments of warmth and connection. Fans of the show will be excited to see how Whitney continues to navigate her personal and professional life in the coming episodes.
