In this episode of Odd Mom Out titled "Midwife Crisis", we see Jill struggling to keep her sanity while planning her daughter's birthday party. Things quickly spiral out of control when Jill realizes that her husband has decided to invite his ex-girlfriend, a midwife named Missy, to the party. Jill is understandably upset and worried that Missy will try to take control of the event, especially since Missy has a reputation for being a bit of a know-it-all.
Meanwhile, Jill's sister-in-law Brooke is dealing with her own set of problems as she tries to connect with her teenage daughter, Abby. Abby is going through a rebellious phase and seems to enjoy pushing her mother's buttons. Brooke is desperate to find a way to reach her daughter, but her efforts only seem to make things worse.
As the party draws near, Jill becomes increasingly anxious about the prospect of dealing with Missy. She enlists the help of her friends, but they're all too busy with their own problems to be much help. As a result, Jill finds herself alone and facing the daunting task of hosting a party while keeping Missy at bay.
The big day arrives, and things start off well enough. The decorations are up, the food is being prepared, and the guests begin to arrive. However, things quickly take a turn for the worse when Missy shows up and begins to take charge. She starts rearranging the furniture, questioning Jill's parenting choices, and generally making herself a nuisance.
Jill tries to keep her cool, but it's clear that she's starting to crack under the pressure. Just when things seem like they can't get any worse, a mishap with the cake sends Missy into a rage, and she storms out of the party. Jill is left to clean up the mess and salvage what's left of the day.
In the end, Jill manages to pull off a successful party, despite the challenges she faced. She also learns an important lesson about the importance of standing up for herself and not letting others control her life. It's a valuable lesson that will serve her well in the future, as she continues to navigate the ups and downs of motherhood in the Upper East Side.
