In the sixth episode of Overlord season 1, titled Journey, our protagonist Momonga, as his persona of Ainz Ooal Gown, moves on to a new phase of his journey. His initial plan was to explore the world to search for other Yggdrasil players but now, having seen the world so far, he is having second thoughts.

Momonga is relieved to have his comrades from Ainz Ooal Gown by his side, even though they are mere NPCs without free wills. Together with them, he hopes to unravel the mysteries of the world. Thus, their journey resumes in a new direction - as they have left the area around the Nazarick dungeon and are now venturing out toward the Great Forest of Tob. Momonga wishes to investigate into the other players' hobbies or interests that might provide a clue to their whereabouts.

As expected, the surrounding areas are filled with lush greenery and different life-forms. The party is met by a merchant who insists on selling them a map of the region but Momonga demurs, for he has a detailed one prepared already. However, before long they realize that the map was not fully accurate, and they encounter a group of lizard-like creatures known as Lizardmen. The Lizardmen initially raise their weapons to fight but quickly surrender at the mere sight of Momonga who wears full armor and carries two giant swords on his back.

Momonga uses this chance to converse with their leader, inviting him to a parley. Momonga is intrigued by the fact that these Lizardmen species understand and speak a version of the same language he and his comrades use as their common tongue. He gradually discovers that not only do the Lizardmen share a common language with the Ainz Ooal Gown, some of the words they use have the same meaning as in the game he played. This raises a curious possibility - are there other beings in this world who were once players of Yggdrasil, like Momonga?

The Lizardman leader requests Momonga's help in defeating the "Wise King of the Forest," which he and his kin have been battling for years. The "Wise King of the Forest" is a powerful entity that surpasses other entities in the Great Forest of Tob and has been actively threatening the Lizardmen's survival. The leader knows that they will not survive without Ainz's help, and makes a plea to Momonga.

Momonga accepts the proposal and, after analyzing the area around the forest, he decides to use magic spells that no other Lizardman has ever encountered before to defeat the "Wise King". His spells work perfectly as the "Wise King of the Forest" is no match for his power. The battle is quick and effortless, leaving the Lizardmen awestruck and grateful to Ainz. Ainz sees this as an opportunity to gain the Lizardmen's trust, and potentially more information about the world he finds himself in.

The denouement of the episode highlights the importance of Ainz's benevolent side, and how it will bring him loyalty and support of those he meets. As a reward for their assistance, Momonga grants the Lizardmen permission to use part of the forest as their own territory; a sign of his gratitude and kindness. The episode ultimately leaves off on a cliffhanger, finishing as Momonga prepares to sit for dinner with the Lizardmen leader to discuss and gather more information about the world around them.

Overall, Overlord season 1 episode 6, named Journey, is an action-packed entry in this anime series. It gives viewers a glimpse into the curious world of Yggdrasil and Momonga's adventures as he discovers more about the world while going beyond his initial motive. The episode has made it clear that Momonga has a long and eventful road ahead of him in his quest to learn more about the world, make alliances, and acquire more power for himself and his guild.
