Paranormal State is a reality television show that revolves around the Paranormal Research Society (PRS) that is led by Ryan Buell who is also the executive producer. The team of PRS travels to different places to investigate paranormal activities and assist people with issues related to supernatural entities.

Season 1 episode 10 named Shape Shifter follows the PRS team when they are called by a family that is claiming to have encountered a shape-shifting entity at their house in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. The family is concerned as they believe that the creature is dangerous and has been lurking around their house for a long time. The PRS receives this call and they immediately decide to investigate the matter.

The team travels to the family's house and begin their investigation. They interview the family members and learn about their experiences with the shape-shifting entity. The PRS team finds out that the entity had been appearing in different forms and shapes, which made it hard for the family to understand it. The family members had encountered the entity in the form of an owl, a bat, a shadow, and a human. The family members believe that the entity has the power to transform into any shape it wishes to.

After the initial investigation, the PRS team sets up their equipment to detect any paranormal activities. They start capturing footage and soon enough, they find some peculiar things. They capture a blurry image of a creature that appears to be flying around in the house. The team tries to capture it in a better way but they are unable to. They decide to consult their psychic, Chip Coffey, who comes up with an interesting theory. He believes that the entity is a demonic entity that is using its shape-shifting abilities to confuse the family members and to keep them on their toes. The team takes his advice seriously and starts to focus their investigation based on this.

The PRS team sets up some more equipment and they start recording again. This time, they capture some more videos and photographs of the entity. They manage to capture the shape-shifting entity in a couple of forms, namely an owl, a bat, and a shadow. The team also capture some strange noises that are being made by the entity. The team members start to feel uneasy and tense as they continue the investigation but they are determined to reach the bottom of this.

The team decides to do a cleansing of the house to rid it of any negative energies. They perform a ritual that involves burning sage and calling upon the powers of the light to protect the family. The team hopes to remove the demonic entity from the house using this ritual. They complete the ritual successfully and after that, they capture one last image of the shape-shifting entity. This time, it appears to be in the form of a human. The team members are unsure if their cleansing has worked or not but they hope that this image is the last that they will see of the entity.

In conclusion, the Shape Shifter episode of Paranormal State is a thrilling ride that will keep the viewers at the edge of their seats. The PRS team investigates a unique case of a shape-shifting entity, which throws in some interesting twists into their usual investigations. The team members work together to try and understand the entity and provide a solution to the family's problems. With a mix of psychic insight and scientific equipment, the team of Paranormal Research Society once again proves that they are the best in the business.
