Ep 10. What Mad Universe

Shinichi tries to get as much information as possible on the parasyte attacks, and thus heads to the library with Murano to conduct research on the special characteristics of the parasytes. After an unfortunately fruitless afternoon, Shinichi decides to take Murano home and return to his house alone. As he walks home, he spots Kana on his way, who is looking for Shinichi after sensing his presence. She confesses to Shinichi that she can discern his ki and that she is inexplicably drawn to it. Shinichi tries to distance himself from Kana, but her tenacity and persistence make it practically impossible.

That night, in the midst of one of his very serious conversations with Migi, Shinichi suddenly finds himself transported to an alternate universe. In this new world, he is portrayed as a celebrity and adorned with lavish wealth and luxury, allowing him to relish in his every desire. Before he can even enjoy his new life, Shinichi is informed by Migi that this world is actually a mirage created by an Alien in order to extract important information about the parasitic race.

Despite his perception of the world he is in as a distasteful one, Shinichi decides to play along and manipulate its unrealistic nature to his advantage. His performance convinces his captor of his position as a dominant being, and soon another alien comes to try and bargain with Shinichi, promising peace between the human race and their own kind. However, in his desperate attempts to annihilate his parasitic counterparts, Shinichi unknowingly reveals important secrets that could deal a devastating blow to his planet.

As Shinichi accepts his request to return to the real world, he is given a chilling warning that his supposed adversary was not the only one who's been playing this game. Eager to make back his life in the world he was used to, Shinichi quickly wakes up with Migi and goes on with his ordinary life. However, it isn't long till he realizes that something is not right; things in his old life can appear strange to his eyes and his sentiments towards some people feel detached or even unfamiliar to him.

Once he finds himself in an emergency situation with his family, Shinichi's body triggers another rejection response and he has to fight to keep himself from becoming a host to another parasite. In the aftermath of the intense battle, Shinichi is certain that the aliens are behind the unnatural movements that have cropped up all around him and he becomes horrified at the thought of another brutal attack.

Overall, the episode features a perfect blend of the show's familiar action and its trademark psychological approach. The story keeps the audience on edge and the events move the plot in a fascinating new direction, making it an intriguing watch for fans of the show.
