Ep 4. Tangled Hair

In Parasyte: The Maxim season 1 episode 4, titled "Tangled Hair," the story revolves around Shinichi, who is still trying to cope with his newly acquired parasitic appendage. The episode begins when Kana, one of Shinichi's classmates, starts talking to him about how she recently discovered she has some sort of telepathic powers. While Shinichi is skeptical, Kana remains convinced that her powers are real and that she is capable of reading other people's thoughts.

Meanwhile, a parasyte who has infiltrated the police department is causing havoc in the city. In an effort to catch the parasyte, the police force decides to set up a checkpoint to search for suspicious individuals. During this checkpoint, Shinichi and his father are pulled over and questioned about their whereabouts. Shinichi initially panics, but is able to control his emotions and avoid detection.

As the episode progresses, Kana begins to develop a crush on Shinichi, much to the dismay of his girlfriend, Satomi. Shinichi, however, seems unfazed by Kana's advances and is more concerned with figuring out how to deal with his parasyte. In an effort to gain more control over his appendage, Shinichi starts going to the gym to train his body and become stronger.

One day, Kana asks to meet up with Shinichi in the park. While they are talking, Kana suddenly becomes aware of a parasyte that is nearby. Shinichi, who is also able to sense the parasyte, tells Kana to run away. Kana, however, decides to stay and help Shinichi fight the parasyte.

The fight scene that follows is intense and action-packed, with Shinichi using his newfound strength and Kana using her telepathic powers to try and defeat the parasyte. In the end, Shinichi is able to kill the parasyte and Kana is left in shock at the sight of the dead creature.

The episode concludes with Shinichi wondering how many more parasytes are out there and whether or not he will be able to protect those he cares about. The episode sets up the rest of the series by hinting at the dangers that will be presented throughout the remaining episodes. Overall, "Tangled Hair" is a thrilling and suspenseful episode that leaves viewers excited for what's to come.
