Ep 6. Episode 6

Goku, Sanzo, Gojyo, and Hakkai cross a river to reach Yodou's hometown. Yodou explains how he was raised in a village near the sea, how his mother was a human, and his father was a devil, and how because of his mixed breed, his village exiled him. As they get closer to Yodou's village, they run into some old acquaintances of Yodou. They tell Yodou that the village he grew up in was hit by a tragedy, and they bring them all to the scene of it.

When the group arrives at the village, Yodou sees the wreckage of his old home and falls into depression. Goku and Sanzo try to cheer him up, but he remains despondent. Meanwhile, Gojyo and Hakkai split off to check out the situation. Gojyo enters a building and finds a woman tied up. He tries to help her, but then he is ambushed and taken captive.

Elsewhere, Sanzo and Goku come upon a young boy who has also been tied up. They free him, and he tells them that he saw Gojyo before he was captured. Sanzo and Goku set off to rescue Gojyo while Hakkai stays with Yodou to look after him. Sanzo and Goku are then ambushed by the same group that captured Gojyo. They engage in a fierce battle with these adversaries, but they are ultimately victorious.

Afterward, they free Gojyo, and they all regroup with Hakkai and Yodou. The group investigates the village and discovers that the wrecked houses are due to the local magistrate's men searching the village for a demon. The citizens are suspicious of Yodou and believe that he is the demon they are looking for. The demon they are looking for is rumored to be in the ruins of the village's castle.

Before leaving the village, the group meets with an old man. He tells them that a demon had come to the village a year ago and has caused all the villagers to leave. The villagers had been suspicious of Yodou because he was a half-breed and he had been banished because he was seen as a curse. The old man tells them that they have to go to the castle to find out the truth.

They reach the castle and encounter a being that looks like Yodou. Yodou demands to know who this entity is, and it reveals itself to be his father. His father explains that he was summoned by the villagers to get rid of a demon but after completing the task, he was sealed in the castle by the inhabitants. He was then forced to watch as his son was banished from the village.

Yodou's father then reveals the truth about the villagers - they were the true cause of the tragedy. They had summoned a demon and then tried to kill it, but in doing so, they caused a terrible explosion that destroyed the village. They then falsely accused Yodou of being the demon to cover up their tracks.

In the end, Yodou and Gojyo help each other reconcile with their pasts. The group mourns the tragedy of the village and sees firsthand the damage caused by ordinary people trying to do the right thing without understanding the consequences. The group continues their journey, and Yodou is finally healed of his guilt and shame as he learns the truth about the demon attack.
