As a warning, this episode of Shimoneta: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist features some scenes with flashing lights and patterns, so be aware if you're sensitive to that sort of thing.

In "Techno Break," we see a bit more of the Blue Snow backstory hinted at earlier in the season. The episode starts with a flashback to Otome's past, where she's showing off her hacking skills and generally being a bit of a troublemaker. She overhears a conversation between her friend Ayame and another girl about how Ayame is planning to start a movement to overthrow the current government, and Otome decides to join in.

From there, the episode jumps back to the present day, where Ayame and the rest of SOX are trying to figure out how to stop the government's latest plot to strip away even more freedoms from the populace. They've managed to pinpoint where the signal jammer is coming from, but they need someone to hack into it and shut it down. Enter Otome, who's more than happy to break out her skills again.

The bulk of the episode is dedicated to Otome's hacking efforts. It's a bit slow-paced, but it's interesting to see her working her way through the various levels of security. There's also a bit of tension as the rest of SOX tries to keep the government goons at bay while Otome does her thing. There's a particularly suspenseful moment near the end where it looks like things might go horribly wrong, but I won't spoil the outcome.

Aside from the hacking, there are a couple of other interesting bits in "Techno Break" as well. One is a brief scene where Hyouka confesses her feelings to Tanukichi, which is pretty sweet. There's also a scene where Ayame tries to explain the concept of a "song-and-dance number" to Otome, which is hilarious in its absurdity.

All in all, "Techno Break" is a solid episode of Shimoneta. It's not as raunchy as some of the previous episodes, but it has its moments of humor and excitement. It's also nice to get a bit more insight into Blue Snow's character. If you've been enjoying the series so far, this episode is definitely worth watching.
