Ep 1. Broken Bow, Part 1

"Broken Bow, Part 1" is the premiere episode of the television series Star Trek: Enterprise, which first aired on September 26, 2001.

The ship's warp engine is damaged in an encounter with a cloaked vessel, which causes the Enterprise to be off-course and fall under attack by the Suliban, who failed to kidnap Klaang ten years previously.

As the crew works to repair the engine and fend off the Suliban, they also try to understand Klaang's mission on Earth and unravel the larger political machinations that led to his presence there in the first place. The episode also introduces some of the main characters of the series, including Chief Engineer Trip Tucker, Communications Officer Hoshi Sato, and Tactical Officer Malcolm Reed.

One of the biggest reveals of the episode is that the overarching plot of the series, at least in its early seasons, centers around a conflict known as the Temporal Cold War. The Suliban are revealed to be pawns in this larger conflict, manipulated by a mysterious figure known only as the "Future Guy."
