Ep 5. It's Like Archaeology, You Dig?

In the fifth episode of Storage Wars: Northern Treasures season 1, titled "It's Like Archaeology, You Dig?," the buyers head to Regina, Saskatchewan to participate in an auction at an abandoned storage unit facility. The buyers, consisting of experienced auction hunters Ursula Stolf, Paul Kenny, Bogart Kenny, Rick Coffill, and Matt Beeso, are ready to face off against each other in hopes of uncovering hidden treasures.

As the auction begins, tensions rise amongst the buyers as they eye each other's body language and observe their reactions to the units being presented. The third unit is a mystery as it's completely wrapped in plastic and the buyers can only see a glimpse of what might be inside. Despite the uncertainty, Rick Coffill takes a risk and wins the unit. Upon opening it, he's pleasantly surprised to find a variety of vintage collectibles.

The fourth unit is overflowing with boxes and it's unclear whether it contains any valuable items. Matt Beeso decides to take a gamble and ends up winning the unit for a surprisingly low price. Upon inspection, he discovers several boxes full of precious memorabilia.

The final unit of the day is also wrapped in plastic and it's clear that it's been untouched for years. The buyers are eager to see what's inside, but they're forced to bid blind. Ursula emerges as the winner, and upon opening the unit, discovers a cache of old newspapers and magazines.

Throughout the episode, viewers get a glimpse into the lives of the buyers as they navigate the unpredictable world of storage unit auctions. Tensions run high as they compete against each other, but there's also a sense of camaraderie as they share their knowledge and expertise with one another.

"It's Like Archaeology, You Dig?" showcases the highs and lows of the auction business, as the buyers must be both strategic and intuitive in order to come out on top.
