Ep 4. Safes n' Snakes

In the fourth episode of Storage Wars: Northern Treasures season 1, titled Safes n' Snakes, the auctioneers are back in the cold lands of Canada to acquire some more valuable treasure from locked storage units. The episode starts off with the auctioneers waiting anxiously to bid on the various storage units being auctioned off at a facility in Toronto.

First up is an unassuming storage unit that's packed to the brim with old wooden furniture. But auctioneer Matt McLeod has a hunch that something valuable is hidden amongst the dusty couches and chairs. He ends up bidding against his nemesis Cindy Hayden and wins the unit for $900. As he begins to sift through the furniture, his hunch pays off and he discovers an antique safe hidden behind a large bureau.

The next storage unit being auctioned off is owned by an eccentric collector named Erwin, who has amassed a large collection of exotic animals over the years. As the auctioneers anxiously wait to see what's inside, the door opens to reveal a room filled with live snakes and other creepy-crawly creatures. Despite the initial shock, the auctioneers soon realize that Erwin has left behind a treasure trove of expensive exotic animal enclosures and equipment.

As the auction continues, auctioneer Roy Dirnbeck has his sights set on a large safe that he's convinced is worth a small fortune. But his plan is foiled when Cindy Hayden outbids him, leaving him empty-handed. Meanwhile, auctioneer Ursula Stolf has her eye on a collection of antique toys that she's convinced will sell for a pretty penny.

At the end of the day, each of the auctioneers has managed to walk away with something valuable. Matt McLeod, after discovering the antique safe in his storage unit, sells it at a pawn shop for a whopping $10,000. Ursula Stolf's gamble on the antique toys pays off, as she sells them for $4,500. Roy Dirnbeck, despite not being able to snag the big safe, manages to sell some other items from his storage unit for a total of $3,700.

Overall, Safes n' Snakes is a thrilling episode that showcases the fierce competition amongst the auctioneers as they battle it out for valuable treasures hidden away in storage units. With the added element of exotic animals thrown in, this episode is not for the faint of heart. But for fans of Storage Wars: Northern Treasures, it's an exciting ride from start to finish.
