Surviving The Cut is a documentary and reality Discovery Channel television series that is produced by 2 Roosters Media. The show feature the rigors of military training and the various programs of certain popular elite forces within the armed forces of the United States. The show offers a very detailed behind the scenes view of the kinds of things that soldiers must endure in order to become members of the elite Special Forces teams in the U.S. For example, there are many challenging obstacle courses and hand to hand combat sequences. Additionally, there is the handling of weaponry, such as the shooting and bombing exercises. At times, soldiers are shown to become injured to demonstrate the importance of arranging for immediate medical attention. One emphasis of the show is to highlight teamwork, courage, strength, persistence and focus as necessary components of a successful training regimen - as core values for each division. As the soldiers undergo their intense military training, they hope to join one of the available Special Forces units. Each episode features how the soldiers attend special schools designed to prepare them for very specific military units. For example, featured units include the Army Rangers, Marine Snipers, Navy Seals and the Air Force Pararescuers. When candidates arrive, they just immediately endure a number of grueling military exercises. The focus is to test each candidate's physical and mental ability to handle all of the school's training demands. The ones who survive are expected to get through even more challenging exercises that prepare them for the dangers and rigors they are expected to face while in the midst of combat. Some of the soldiers resign before completing the various extreme training measures, while others are eliminated. Soldiers also participate in many orchestrated combat situations that are designed to test fighting and leadership skills. The few surviving members must pass all of their course in order to earn the coveted place among the Special Forces units.
