As Lag continues his journey to deliver letters as a Letter Bee, he finally arrives in the town of Lament, which is known for its ever-present rain. However, this time he is not alone: he has teamed up with a group of travelers who are also trying to reach the same destination, including the mysterious Noir, who seems to have an ulterior motive for traveling with them.
The group soon sees a young girl being bullied by some older boys, but before they can intervene, another girl comes to her rescue, wielding a rifle and scaring off the bullies. The girl introduces herself as Sylvette Suede, and it becomes apparent that she is blind. Nevertheless, she seems to have a close bond with her rifle, which she calls "Rae".
Lag and his companions are drawn to Sylvette's story, as she reveals that she used to be able to see, but lost her vision when she was caught up in a battle involving the monstrous Gaichuu creatures. Her older brother, who was a Letter Bee named Gauche Suede, went missing in the same incident. Sylvette believes that if she can find her brother, she might be able to regain her sight.
Lag is moved by Sylvette's determination and offers to deliver a letter for her to the organization headquarters that might be able to help her find Gauche. However, when they arrive at the headquarters, they are met with resistance from the head of the organization, who seems to have a personal grudge against Gauche.
Undeterred, Lag decides to take matters into his own hands and sets out to search for Gauche himself, with Sylvette's encouragement. Along the way, they encounter more Gaichuu creatures, which serve as a reminder of the dangers that Letter Bees face on a daily basis.
As they continue their search, Lag begins to see Sylvette in a new light, recognizing her inner strength and determination despite her blindness. Meanwhile, Noir's true intentions begin to surface, throwing a wrench into Lag's plans.
In the end, Lag and Sylvette's journey leads them to a surprising revelation that sheds light on the mystery of Gauche's disappearance and the true nature of the Letter Bee organization. This episode serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices and risks that come with being a Letter Bee, as well as the importance of friendship in times of adversity.
