The Bionic Woman (Classic) season 2 episode 13 titled Biofeedback follows Jaime Sommers as she goes on a mission to protect a scientist who has developed a mind-reading machine. The episode opens with Jaime attending a party and noticing a man staring at her. Unbeknownst to her, the man is an assassin hired to kill the scientist and steal his invention.
Jaime is approached by the scientist, Dr. Whalen, who asks her for protection. After agreeing to take the job, Jaime is hooked up to Dr. Whalen's machine to test it out. She is surprised when the machine is able to read her thoughts accurately. Dr. Whalen reveals that the machine will be used to help paralyzed individuals communicate with others using their thoughts.
Jaime heads to Dr. Whalen's lab with another agent, but they are ambushed by the assassin. Jaime uses her bionic strength to stop the attacker and save the scientist. However, the machine is damaged during the attack.
Jaime and the scientist travel to a remote cabin to fix the machine, but it's clear that the assassin is still on their trail. Jaime uses her bionics to track the attacker, but it seems like a lost cause. Meanwhile, Dr. Whalen continues to repair the machine and needs feedback from Jaime's thoughts to calibrate it. However, Jaime is reluctant to share her thoughts as she is still mourning the loss of her fiancé.
As the assassin closes in, Jaime and Dr. Whalen hurry to finish fixing the machine. Jaime is suddenly forced to confront her feelings of loss when she is attacked by the assassin and left immobilized on the floor. Dr. Whalen uses the machine to read her thoughts and provide the necessary feedback to jumpstart Jaime's body function again.
In the end, Jaime defeats the assassin and the machine is fixed. However, she is left to grapple with the reality that her thoughts can be read by a machine and that she isn't as invincible as she once thought. Biofeedback highlights both Jaime's physical and emotional vulnerabilities and the lengths she will go to protect a scientist and his invention.
