The Dead Files is an investigative paranormal reality show that combines the insights of a retired NYPD homicide detective, Steve DiSchiavi, and a medium, Amy Allan, to uncover and solve some of the most baffling and gruesome cases of hauntings across America. In the second episode of season 13, titled "Deadly Reflections - Waxahachie, Texas," the duo travel to a secluded farmhouse located in Waxahachie, Texas, to investigate claims of demonic activity that is plaguing a family of six.

The farmhouse is over a century old, and its current owners, the Wilkerson family, have been living in the house for the past five years. However, over the last few months, the family has been experiencing unexplainable phenomena that are driving them to the brink of insanity. They have reported seeing apparitions, hearing strange noises, and witnessing doors opening and closing on their own. The children have been particularly affected, with the youngest child, a three-year-old girl, describing an invisible man who sits on her bed at night and sings to her.

Upon their arrival, Steve and Amy immediately sense a dark and malevolent presence lurking within the property. Steve conducts an investigation of the house's history, unearthing a macabre past involving the gruesome murder-suicide of the previous occupants, followed by their daughter's suicide a few years later. The house also sits on a Native American burial ground, and Steve believes that the land's history is a contributing factor to the paranormal activity.

While Steve investigates the house's history, Amy conducts a walkthrough of the property, during which she senses the presence of a demonic entity that is manipulating the family members through their own fears and weaknesses. She also discovers that the spirit of the previous owner of the house, a woman who was brutally murdered by her husband, is still lingering in the house.

As the investigation progresses, Steve and Amy realize that the demonic entity is feeding off the family's fears and instability, and they must act fast to rid the property of the malevolent presence. They work closely with the family members to understand their experiences and provide them with coping mechanisms to deal with their fears.

In the climax of the episode, Steve and Amy conduct a joint investigation that leads them to an abandoned well located at the back of the property. They discover that the well is a gateway to the other side, and the demonic entity has been using it to gain entry into the house. With the help of a team of paranormal experts and a shaman, they conduct a ritual to close the gateway and seal the demonic entity off from the property.

In the end, the investigation proves to be a success, and the Wilkerson family can finally breathe a sigh of relief as the activity in their home subsides. Steve and Amy remind them that while the malevolent presence may be gone for now, it is essential to continue to take care of their mental and emotional wellbeing to prevent another entity from entering their lives.
