The Dead Files is a paranormal television show that follows a retired NYPD homicide detective named Steve DiSchiavi and a psychic medium named Amy Allan as they investigate unexplained paranormal activity across America. Each episode sees the pair travel to different locations, where Steve uses his investigative skills to research the history of the location and interview locals about any strange occurrences they've experienced. Meanwhile, Amy spends her time conducting a walk-through of the location, using her supernatural abilities to communicate with any spirits or entities that may be present.

In the ninth season of the show, the fourth episode is titled "Compelled - St. Charles, Michigan." In this episode, Steve and Amy visit a home in St. Charles that has been plagued by unexplainable activity for years. The current owners have only lived in the home for a short time, but they've already experienced strange phenomena such as unexplained noises, footsteps, and voices. They've also had objects move on their own and doors open and close without explanation. The couple is afraid to be in their own home, especially after an incident where a door slammed shut on its own, trapping them in the basement.

Steve does some research on the house and discovers that it was built in the 1950s on the site of an old farm. The farm was owned by a man named Henry, who was known to be a hoarder and had a reputation for being a bit eccentric. Henry passed away in the early 1950s, and his farmhouse was demolished to make way for the new construction. However, parts of the old foundation were left in place, and some of Henry's belongings, including old newspapers and magazines, were buried in the backyard.

Amy walks through the house and immediately senses a malevolent presence. She feels that there are multiple entities in the home, including one that is driving the other spirits away. She also senses a spirit that is attached to one of the homeowners, a woman who has experienced physical symptoms such as migraines and stomach issues since moving into the house.

As the investigation continues, Amy conducts a ritual to try and communicate with the spirits. She makes contact with a spirit who identifies himself as Henry and reveals that he's angry about the destruction of his farmhouse and the fact that his belongings were buried in the yard. He's been wreaking havoc on the homeowners in an attempt to get revenge. Amy also encounters a malevolent entity that she describes as a demon. This entity has taken over the home and is the primary cause of the homeowners' distress.

Steve and Amy work together to provide the homeowners with a plan to rid the house of the malevolent entity. They recommend that the couple perform a ritual to remove the demon from the home and that they excavate the buried items in the backyard as a way to appease the angry spirit of Henry. The homeowners follow their advice and report back that the activity in the house has significantly diminished. They feel that they can finally sleep peacefully and enjoy their home without fear.

Overall, "Compelled - St. Charles, Michigan" is a chilling episode of The Dead Files that showcases the talents of Steve and Amy as they work together to uncover the truth behind unexplainable paranormal activity. The episode gives viewers a glimpse into the history of the location and the spirits that may be present, while also providing practical solutions for the current homeowners to overcome their fear and find peace in their own home.
