Jim Rockford, a private investigator with a penchant for getting himself into trouble, is back in action in season 5 of The Rockford Files. In episode 9 entitled "Black Mirror (1)," Rockford finds himself caught up in a tangled web of deceit and betrayal.

The episode opens with Rockford receiving a mysterious call from a woman named Sandra. She claims to be in danger and asks for his help, but before Rockford can get any more information, the call is abruptly cut off. Determined to find out what's going on, Rockford sets out to track down Sandra and unravel the mystery surrounding her distress call.

As he starts digging into the case, Rockford discovers that Sandra is involved in an elaborate scheme to steal valuable art from a wealthy collector. But things quickly take a dangerous turn when a series of murders occur, and Rockford realizes that he may be in over his head.

With the help of his friend and occasional partner, LAPD Sergeant Dennis Becker, Rockford sets out to uncover the truth behind the art theft and the murders. But as he gets closer to the answers, he finds himself facing off against some of the most dangerous criminals he's ever encountered.

As always, James Garner delivers a standout performance as the wise-cracking and quick-witted Jim Rockford. He's joined by a talented supporting cast, including Noah Beery Jr. as Becker and Joe Santos as Lieutenant Frank Chapman.

Filled with suspense, action, and plenty of clever one-liners, "Black Mirror (1)" is a must-see for fans of The Rockford Files. Whether you're a longtime viewer or a newcomer to the series, this episode is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
