Ep 2. Day Trip to Memphis

In Trisha's Southern Kitchen season 7 episode 2, titled "Day Trip to Memphis," Trisha takes a road trip to Memphis, Tennessee to explore the city's famous food scene.

Trisha begins her journey at the iconic Arcade Restaurant for breakfast, where she samples their famous sweet potato pancakes and meets with the owner, Harry Zepatos. From there, Trisha visits the Peanut Shoppe, a family-owned and operated business that has been serving up roasted nuts and candy since 1949.

The next stop on Trisha's journey is The Rendezvous, a legendary BBQ restaurant located in an alley off of Memphis's famous Beale Street. Trisha meets with the owner and pitmaster, John Vergos, who shows her the ropes and whips up some of their famous ribs.

Next, Trisha makes her way to Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken to try their spicy fried chicken and meet with the owner, Wendy McCrory. Wendy gives Trisha a behind-the-scenes look at how they prepare their chicken and shares the history of the family-owned restaurant.

After a day of exploring, Trisha meets up with her friend, Chef Kelly English, at his restaurant, The Second Line. Kelly prepares some classic southern dishes for Trisha to try, including shrimp and grits and red beans and rice.

Finally, Trisha ends her trip with a visit to the famous Peabody Hotel to witness the daily march of the ducks. She enjoys some hors d'oeuvres and a cocktail while watching the ducks make their grand entrance into the lobby.

Throughout the episode, Trisha showcases the vibrant food culture of Memphis and the passionate people behind it. She shares her love for southern cuisine and emphasizes the importance of preserving family-owned businesses and traditions.
