In Unwrapped Season 12 Episode 4, titled "Cheap Eats," viewers are taken on a journey through some of the most surprisingly affordable and delicious foods around. Host Marc Summers sets out to show that you don't have to spend a lot of money to enjoy a good meal, and he visits some of the most budget-friendly eateries across America in order to prove his point.

The episode begins with a visit to the American Coney Island restaurant in Detroit, Michigan, which has been serving up its famous "Coney dogs" for nearly a century. Marc gets a behind-the-scenes look at the operation and learns about the history of this Detroit icon. With a price tag of only a few dollars, these hot dogs are the perfect example of a delicious and budget-friendly meal.

Next up, Marc heads to New York City's East Village to check out Mamouns, a legendary falafel spot that has been serving up Middle Eastern cuisine for over 40 years. The restaurant's menu is simple and affordable, and Marc learns about the care and craftsmanship that goes into each falafel ball. He also discovers that the restaurant's owner is originally from Syria and came to America with a dream of bringing a taste of his homeland to the masses.

For a taste of the South, Marc visits James Beard award-winning chef Sean Brock at his restaurant Husk in Charleston, South Carolina. While some of the dishes at Husk can be on the pricier side, Brock shows Marc how to make a surprisingly affordable dish: pimento cheese. This classic Southern spread is made with simple ingredients and can be used in a variety of ways, from sandwich fillings to dips.

At Food Truck Alley in Atlanta, Georgia, Marc discovers a hidden gem: Yumbii, a food truck that fuses Asian and Mexican flavors to create unique dishes like Korean BBQ tacos and miso rice bowls. These dishes are not only affordable, but also made with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.

Marc then heads to the West Coast to visit Stella's Kitchen in Santa Monica, California. This cozy restaurant is known for its "butterflied burger," a juicy burger patty topped with blue cheese and bacon that is served on a toasted ciabatta bun. At only $8.50, this burger is a steal.

Finally, Marc visits Sugarcane Raw Bar Grill in Miami, Florida, to sample their charred octopus dish. While some may think that octopus is a luxury ingredient, Sugarcane's version is surprisingly affordable and expertly cooked. Marc learns about the restaurant's innovative use of the ingredient and sees it in action in the restaurant's open kitchen.

Throughout the episode, Marc showcases the creativity and ingenuity of chefs and food entrepreneurs who are able to create delicious meals without breaking the bank. With a focus on affordability and quality, "Cheap Eats" is an eye-opening look at some of the best budget-friendly eats around.
