W is a South Korean television show that aired on MBC from July to September of 2016. The show follows the story of Kang Cheol, a former Olympic gold medalist in shooting turned successful businessman who also happens to be the lead protagonist in a popular web comic. The comic, which shares the same title as the show, was created by Cheol's father, who had passed away many years prior.

One day, Oh Yeon-joo, a young resident doctor, receives a call from her father. When she meets him at his office, she finds that her father is missing and can only assume that he has entered the world of Cheol's comic. While searching for her father, Yeon-joo is accidentally transported into the webtoon, where she meets Cheol.

As the story progresses, Yeon-joo and Cheol develop a relationship and work together to uncover the mysterious circumstances surrounding Cheol's family and the origins of the webtoon that has become such a huge part of his life.

The show features an incredibly talented cast, including Lee Jong-suk as Kang Cheol and Han Hyo-joo as Oh Yeon-joo. Lee Jong-suk's portrayal of Cheol is both powerful and vulnerable, bringing depth to a character that could have been one-dimensional. Han Hyo-joo's Yeon-joo is smart, quick-thinking, and relatable. Both actors have fantastic chemistry, making their inclusion in this show truly remarkable.

Supporting the leads are a cast of equally talented actors, including Jeong Eu-Gene as Kang Seong-wook, the main antagonist, and Lee Tae-hwan as Seo Do-yoon, Cheol's aide and friend. These actors bring depth and nuance to their characters, making them as compelling and interesting as the leads.

The show's writing is exceptional, with a blend of mystery, adventure, drama, and romance that keeps the viewer engaged throughout its run. The show's creators, Song Jae-Jung and Kim Hyung-seok, do an excellent job of balancing the different elements of the story and keeping the momentum going from episode to episode.

One of the most impressive aspects of W is its use of special effects. The show features seamless transitions between the real world and the world of the webtoon. The animation is top-notch, making it hard for the viewer to distinguish between the real world and the comic world. This effect helps to bring the viewer deeper into the story, blurring the lines between reality and fiction.

Another standout feature of W is its soundtrack. The show features a range of music, from haunting ballads to upbeat pop tracks, all of which complement the action on screen perfectly. The music is so integral to the show that it's become a fan favorite, with many viewers seeking out the soundtrack after the show ended.

Overall, W is an exceptional series that showcases the best of what Korean dramas have to offer. With a talented cast, excellent writing, and superb special effects, the show takes viewers on a wild ride full of twists, turns, and unexpected surprises. Whether you're a fan of mystery, romance, or just great storytelling, W is a must-watch.
