In the distant future, humanity has spread across the galaxy and formed the United Federation of Planets. However, a mysterious organization known as the Gnosis has appeared, attacking ships and leaving nothing but corpses in their wake. The Federation has tasked a group of scientists with uncovering the truth behind the Gnosis and their origins.

The series begins with the awakening of KOS-MOS, a female android designed for combat. She is found in a laboratory by Shion Uzuki, a scientist working on the Gnosis project. They are attacked by a Gnosis creature, which KOS-MOS easily destroys with her advanced weaponry.

As they continue to investigate the Gnosis attacks, Shion and her team discover that the creatures are attracted to a strange energy called the Zohar, which is also linked to the origin of the universe. They believe that the Gnosis may be connected to an ancient civilization known as the Lost Jerusalem, which had knowledge of the Zohar.

Meanwhile, a mysterious man named chaos appears, claiming to be a representative of the galaxy's collective unconscious. He offers his assistance to Shion, claiming that he has information that could help them in their search for the truth.

As the episode progresses, it becomes clear that KOS-MOS is more than just a weapon. She seems to possess a consciousness and emotions, despite being an artificial creation. This raises ethical questions about the use of androids in combat and whether or not they should be considered sentient beings.

The episode ends with a shocking revelation about the true nature of the Gnosis and their connection to the Zohar. It leaves the audience with many questions about the mysteries at the heart of the series and sets up a thrilling and thought-provoking story.
