Astarotte's Toy is a fantasy anime series produced by Kadokawa Pictures Inc. which premiered in April 2011. The show is based on the manga series written and illustrated by Yui Haga. The anime series is directed by Fumitoshi Oizaki and produced by J.C. Staff. The series takes place in a world where a queen of demons named Astarotte Ygvar, whose race requires regular intake of male essence to survive, has sworn to never have intimate relations with a male demon. However, due to her diminished health, her mother and caretaker, Mercelída Ygvar, presents her with the idea of having a human male harem, from which she can draw "life essence" to help maintain her health. Reluctantly, Astarotte agrees to the proposal and sets out to create her male harem.

The show is primarily a romantic comedy and revolves around Astarotte's harem consisting of several human males and their adventures together. The male leads of the series include Naoya Tōhara, a college student who has been thrust into this magical world; Grunhilde, Astarotte's faithful servant and bodyguard; and Judit Snorrevík, the Queen's steward.

The series is mostly centered around Astarotte's growing relationship with Naoya, whom she initially dislikes for being a human, but eventually begins to care for. The series also explores Astarotte's relationships with her other male harem members, each of whom brings their unique personality and background to the table.

Asuha tells Lotte to deliver the invitation in person, and Lotte broods over the idea, but eventually works up the courage to go Mercel?da castle the next day, but...

Naoya brings his daughter, Asuha, from the Realm of Man now that he has been selected as a candidate for the harem and is living with Lotte in their estate. Lotte is surprised that Naoya has a daughter at his age and unleashes a barrage of insults against him without realizing exactly what she's saying. Asuha, on the other hand, doesn't seem exactly pleased that her dad had a lot of bad things said about him. Naoya tells Asuha that, instead, he wishes for her to become friends with Lotte. The very next day, Asuha tries to look for Lotte in order to make amends, but she has already gone to school. Asuha says she wants to go to school too.

Judit brought back a young man named Touhara Naoya from the Realm of Man. Lotte, who gave the original task of bringing a human male to their realm, decides to ask Naoya to attend to her that night. But Naoya spills a pitcher of milk as soon as he opens the door to Lotte's room. Naoya finds himself in quite the situation, as Lotte tells him to find new milk, and Naoya is unable to find milk that tastes similar to the one he spilled. It turns out that this was all Lotte's plan to make Naoya take the blame for what happened.
