Detective Jake Peralta and his fellow detectives at the 99th precinct of the NYPD are back in action in the second episode of the first season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, titled "The Tagger." In this episode, the crew faces their first big case together, as they set out to catch a graffiti artist who has been causing mayhem all over the city.

Peralta, played by comedian Andy Samberg, is a talented but childish detective who often gets in trouble with his superiors for his lack of professionalism. In "The Tagger," we see Peralta and his partner Detective Terry Jeffords, played by Terry Crews, investigating a string of graffiti incidents around the city.

The episode opens with Peralta and Jeffords driving through Brooklyn in search of the elusive "Park Slope Krusher," a graffiti artist who has been tagging buildings all over the city. Peralta, who is known for his unconventional style of policing, believes that the key to catching the Krusher is to get inside his head.

Meanwhile, Captain Ray Holt, played by Andre Braugher, is trying to get his new team in order. Holt is the precinct's new commanding officer, and he is determined to whip the detectives into shape and make them work as a cohesive unit. His first task is to get the detectives to stop playing pranks on each other and start taking their jobs more seriously.

As the episode progresses, we see Peralta and Jeffords working hard to catch the Krusher. They spend long hours staking out the locations where the graffiti has appeared, hoping to catch the artist in the act. They also interview witnesses and examine security footage, looking for any clues that might lead them to the culprit.

At the same time, the rest of the team is dealing with their own problems. Detective Rosa Diaz, played by Stephanie Beatriz, is still upset with Peralta for beating her in a bet, and she is determined to get even. Detective Charles Boyle, played by Joe Lo Truglio, is trying to impress his crush, fellow detective Rosa, by showing off his detective skills. And administrative assistant Gina Linetti, played by Chelsea Peretti, is causing chaos with her strange office antics.

Despite all the distractions, Peralta and Jeffords eventually crack the case. They catch the Krusher in the act and arrest him on charges of vandalism. As the episode ends, Captain Holt praises the detectives for their hard work and teamwork, signaling a turning point in their relationship. From this moment on, the team will work together more effectively as they fight crime in the streets of Brooklyn.

Overall, "The Tagger" is an entertaining and action-packed episode that showcases the strengths of the Brooklyn Nine-Nine cast. The characters are funny, relatable, and endearing, and their chemistry is undeniable. The episode also introduces some of the themes that will be explored throughout the series, such as teamwork, professionalism, and the importance of following the rules. With its mix of humor, drama, and action, "The Tagger" is a great example of why Brooklyn Nine-Nine is one of the best cop comedies on television.
