Ring of Fire is a 2013 biopic drama that chronicles the life of legendary country artist June Carter Cash and her relationship with Johnny Cash. The film stars musician Jewel in her acting debut as June Carter Cash, Matt Ross as Johnny Cash, John Doe as A.P. Carter, and Frances Conroy as Maybelle Carter. It originally aired on ReelzChannel on May 27, 2013.

The movie begins in the 1930s with a young June Carter joining her family's traveling gospel group The Carter Family, which consisted of her mother Maybelle Carter and uncle A.P. Carter. June's incredible musical talent shines from an early age, but she struggles with living in the shadow of her more famous relatives. She eventually breaks out on her own to pursue a career in country music and begins touring with the likes of Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash.

June has an instant connection when she first meets Johnny Cash backstage at one of her concerts, but both are married to other people at the time. Over the years they continue to cross paths as their careers rise, and an undeniable attraction grows between them. But Johnny's reckless behavior and drug addiction constantly threaten to derail their relationship.

The film highlights June's devotion to her family and her deep faith as she navigates fame and her tumultuous relationship with Johnny. She acts as a grounding force in Johnny's life, inspiring him to pursue sobriety and turn his life around. After both divorcing their previous spouses, June and Johnny finally marry in 1968.

Jewel gives an impressive breakout performance as June Carter Cash, perfectly embodying her larger-than-life personality, sassy charm, and musical talents. She also does her own singing in the film, performing classics like "Ring of Fire" and "Jackson." Her chemistry with Matt Ross as the brooding Johnny Cash ignites the screen.

The film celebrates June's courage and resilience as she contends with the challenges of Johnny's addiction, ultimately emerging as the rock who helped save his life. Their enduring love story shows that with faith, family and perseverance, one can walk through the ring of fire and come out stronger on the other side. While taking some creative license, Ring of Fire captures the essence of June Carter Cash and provides an intimate look into the woman behind the music legend.
