The Rachel Zoe Project is a reality show that stars celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe. She helps to find clothes, accessories and shoes for celebrities for various awards shows and fashion shoots. Her life is very hectic; her husband Roger manages her business. In the beginning of the show, he is pushing Rachel to have a baby because after ten years of marriage he feels as though she has not made becoming a mother a top priority.

Rachel has a lot to deal with. She has a very busy schedule and also faces scrutiny from the press over her very small waist. Rachel is always traveling to fashion shows and wants to expand her brand by selling her own line of clothing and accessories. She relies heavily on her assistants to help her get important tasks accomplished.

Two of her assistants are named Taylor and Brad. Taylor is a very hard worker and can work independently to get things done. She acts as a caretaker to Rachel and helps to alleviate her stress. Brad is a junior stylist and is very fun. He has issues with Taylor because she believes him to be more of a friend to Rachel than an employee. Taylor is resentful that she has to do so much grunt work when Brad was hired to help her get her work load reduced.

Rachel and Rodger do end up having a child. The baby boy is named Skylar. Pregnancy is tough for Rachel because of her commitments. She sees impending motherhood as scary and does not want to let anyone down. Her health takes a toll throughout the series as she deals with a lot of stress and anxiety. Rodger works to try and keep her calm so that her business can thrive and clients can be satisfied.
