Wayward Pines was a psychological thriller television show that aired on FOX for two seasons from 2015-2016. The show was based on a series of novels by Blake Crouch, and was produced by M. Night Shyamalan. Set in the idyllic town of Wayward Pines, Idaho, the show followed the story of Ethan Burke, a Secret Service agent who travels to the town to investigate the disappearance of two fellow agents.

The show was notable for its impressive cast, which included Toby Jones as Dr. Jenkins, Charlie Tahan as Ben Burke, Matt Dillon as Ethan Burke, Terrence Howard as Sheriff Arnold Pope, Melissa Leo as Nurse Pam, Tim Griffin as Adam Hassler, Shannyn Sossamon as Theresa Burke, Juliette Lewis as Beverly, Reed Diamond as Harold Ballinger, and Carla Gugino as Kate Hewson.

The first season of Wayward Pines was a mystery-thriller that kept viewers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. Ethan Burke arrives in Wayward Pines to investigate the disappearance of two fellow agents, but quickly finds himself trapped in the town. He is unable to contact the outside world, and begins to suspect that the town is not what it seems. As he digs deeper into the mystery, he discovers that the town is ruled by a group of sinister individuals who will stop at nothing to maintain their control over the population.

Throughout the first season, Ethan must navigate the treacherous waters of Wayward Pines, uncovering secrets and trying to find a way out. Along the way, he is aided by a group of rebels who are seeking to overthrow the ruling regime. The conflict between the rebels and the town's rulers forms the backbone of the first season, and keeps viewers engaged throughout.

One of the standout performances of the first season was by Matt Dillon, who played Ethan Burke. Dillon brought a depth and complexity to the role, as he struggled to uncover the truth about Wayward Pines and ultimately take down the town's rulers. He was supported by an incredibly talented cast, including Melissa Leo, who was chilling as Nurse Pam, and Terrence Howard, who brought a manic energy to his role as Sheriff Pope.

The second season of Wayward Pines continued the story of the town, but took a slightly different direction. The season was set several years after the events of the first season, and followed the story of Jason Higgins, who had taken over as the leader of the town. The season focused on the conflict between Higgins and a group of people who had escaped from Wayward Pines and were trying to take down the town from the outside.

While the second season was not quite as strong as the first, it still featured strong performances from its cast. The standout performance of the season came from Jason Patric, who played Jason Higgins. Patric brought a gravitas to the role, and was able to convey the complicated emotions of a man who was struggling to maintain control over a town that he had grown to love.

Overall, Wayward Pines was an engaging and thrilling television show that kept viewers on the edge of their seats throughout its two-season run. The show was marked by its talented cast, its well-crafted script, and its ability to keep viewers guessing right up until the very end. While it was ultimately cancelled after two seasons, it remains a standout example of a genre-bending and thought-provoking television show.

Wayward Pines is a series that is currently running and has 2 seasons (22 episodes). The series first aired on May 14, 2015.
