A Fine Madness

Based on the Elliot Baker novel released two years earlier by the same name, "A Fine Madness" tells a biopic tale of fictitious poet Samson Shillitoe living in Greenwich Village during the dawn of the hippie movement. Frustrated with his lack of ability to finish his latest great work, the poet struggles to make ends meet and through fight after fight with his loyal long-time girlfriend, a no-nonsense New York City waitress. As Shillitoe spirals deeper into depression and thoughts of suicide, he seeks to find inspiration to regain his voice as a successful and celebrated beat generation poet by looking for his voice in the unlikeliest of places.
