Alien visitors come to Earth on a mission to study human life up close and personal. The show follows their daily lives as they try to blend in with society, with hilarious mishaps and misunderstandings along the way.
In episode 16, titled "Dick Like Me," the leader of the alien group, known as "Dick" (played by John Lithgow), becomes increasingly frustrated by his inability to understand human emotions. His fellow aliens, Sally (played by Kristen Johnston), Tommy (played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt), and Harry (played by French Stewart), try to help him out by explaining the concept of empathy.
Meanwhile, the aliens' human friend, Mary (played by Jane Curtin), is struggling with her own personal issues, including a difficult relationship with her teenage daughter and a recent breakup. When Dick attempts to use his newfound empathy to understand Mary's problems, things quickly spiral out of control.
As always, the episode is filled with absurd comedy and witty one-liners. Lithgow's performance as the aloof and clueless Dick is particularly noteworthy, as is the chemistry between the core cast members.
Overall, "Dick Like Me" is a standout episode that highlights the strengths of the show. It's a clever and hilarious take on the classic "fish out of water" story, with a sci-fi twist that makes it all the more entertaining. Fans of 3rd Rock from the Sun won't want to miss it.
