Meanwhile, Dick becomes increasingly obsessed with his running abilities. He spends all his time training, neglecting his work, and his family. His obsession reaches a breaking point when he decides to enter a high-pressure race, despite his lack of experience at that level.

As the race approaches, Sally and Harry use their scientific expertise to determine that the pills given to Dick are a powerful stimulant. They locate the source of the pills and discover that they are being produced by the local pharmaceutical company. The Solomons confront Larry, who is revealed to be a representative of the company and an unwitting accomplice in the scheme. The Solomons are able to convince him to stop producing the pills and to hand over any remaining supplies.

With the drug crisis averted, the Solomons are able to come together to support Dick in his upcoming race. They help him train and prepare for the challenge, and ultimately, he is able to compete without the aid of performance-enhancing drugs. Although he does not win, he is proud of his effort and happy to have his family's support.

In the end, the episode deals with themes of obsession, the dangers of shortcuts, and the importance of family support.
