Ep 1. Truth Be Told

Sydney Bristow is a graduate student in Los Angeles. However, that is just a front for her real job as a spy for the CIA. She is approached by her father, Jack, who she has been estranged from for several years. He gives her an opportunity to work for SD-6, a secret branch of the CIA that is not connected to the government.

Sydney accepts the job offer. Her first task is to retrieve a circuit board from a safe in Taipei. She is successful in retrieving the circuit board and delivers it to her boss, Arvin Sloane. However, she begins to have doubts about the true nature of her work for SD-6.

Sydney seeks answers from her father, who reveals to her that SD-6 is not actually a branch of the CIA. It is a terrorist organization that the real CIA has been trying to take down for years. Sydney is horrified to learn the truth and becomes determined to take down SD-6 from the inside.

She reaches out to her CIA handler, Michael Vaughn, and explains the situation. He agrees to help Sydney bring down SD-6 and explains that she will have to continue working for them in order to gather information.

Sydney’s next task is to retrieve a set of encrypted books from a bank in France. She is successful in retrieving the books, but she is captured by the French police before she can escape. Sydney is taken to a CIA black site where she is interrogated by a man named Agent Stoller.

Sydney realizes that she has been set up by SD-6 and that they wanted her to be caught by the CIA. Agent Stoller reveals to Sydney that her mother was also a spy for the CIA and was killed by SD-6. He tells Sydney that she can help them take down SD-6 and avenge her mother’s death.

Sydney is released from the black site and returns to LA. She meets with Vaughn and they discuss the next steps for taking down SD-6. Sydney creates a fake report about a new weapon that SD-6 is developing and delivers it to Sloane. Sloane is pleased with the report and gives Sydney a promotion.

Sydney begins to work on the next phase of her plan to take down SD-6. However, she quickly realizes that the stakes are much higher than she originally thought and that her life is in danger. She must use all of her spy skills to outwit SD-6 and stay alive.

“Truth Be Told” is an action-packed episode that sets the tone for the entire season. It introduces the main characters and establishes the main conflict of the show. Sydney is a complex character who is torn between her loyalty to SD-6 and her desire to do what is right. The episode also sets up the overarching storyline of Sydney’s search for the truth about her mother’s death. Overall, “Truth Be Told” is a strong start to an iconic TV series.
