In this episode of Antiques Roadshow, the team travels to Sands Point, New York for the third hour of the Sands Point Preserve event. The preserved estate once belonged to Howard Gould, the son of railroad tycoon Jay Gould, and his wife, actress Katherine Clemmons.

The hour is filled with exciting discoveries and fascinating history. One guest brings in a set of five pink Carrara marble statues, which were once part of the Vanderbilt mansion and are valued at over $100,000. Another guest brings in a painting by Hudson River School artist James Fairman, which is appraised at $30,000.

Another highlight of the hour is a collection of Fabergé pieces, including an exquisite figurine of a miniature elephant with ruby eyes and a gold carriage, valued at $150,000. The expert notes that the piece is featured in a famous Fabergé book and was highly coveted by collectors.

The team also meets a guest who brings in a beautiful hand-painted porcelain lamp, originally purchased in Japan in the 1920s. The expert notes that the lamp features a rare and vibrant shade of green, and is valued at $8,000.

Another guest brings in a family heirloom - a gold and diamond necklace that belonged to her great-grandmother. The expert is able to date the necklace to the early 1900s and notes its unique design, ultimately appraising it at $12,000.

One of the most surprising discoveries of the hour comes from a guest who brings in an antique toy horse and cart, which had been in their family for generations. The expert notes that the toy is an early example of a Pullman porter toy, which was once made by the thousands to depict the African American railroad employees who worked for the Pullman Company. Though the toy is missing its original paint, it is still valued at $4,000 due to its rarity and historical significance.

The hour ends with a look at a stunning Tiffany & Co. sterling silver vanity set, which includes a mirror, brush, and comb, among other pieces. The set is beautifully adorned with a floral pattern and is valued at $20,000, much to the delight of its owner.

This episode of Antiques Roadshow is full of surprises and valuable treasures, showcasing the beauty and history of these unique objects. The team once again proves their skill in appraising and understanding the significance of these antiques, leaving viewers enthralled with the world of antiques and collectibles.
